Peter R Cook's Nuclear Structure and Function Research Group

Congratulations to Cristian on his award of an HFSP cross-disciplinary fellowship.

Cristian was awarded his D. Phil. in Engineering Science at the beginning of 2021 under the supervision of Prof Edmond Walsh and Prof Alfonso Castrejon-Pita. He carried out much of his work on developing the next generation of microfluidic devices on standard Petri dishes in the Cook group. The potential of his work was recognized when he received the 'SLAS Innovation Award' in 2019 (see also Soitu et al., 2018; Soitu et al., 2020).

Cristian is now in Anthony Zador's group at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory investigating mechanisms mediating information flow in the brain at single-cell resolution.
