Start up Procedure
- Switch on the Calibur (on the right at back).
- Then after 2 mins. switch on the computer & peripherals
- Check the FACSFlow SS ({Below Bench}No
lights on the left hand panel, call me for assistance.)
- Turn on the pressure switch(in drawer).
- Put a fresh Dist. H20 tube
on the SIP and press the Prime Button and wait, before going to Run
- The instrument is then
ready for you to use (providing the laser is ready).
- All data should be
temporally store in a folder of your name in the current month and year
while acquisition is carried out. (please do not use default file
labelling or over long file names)
- On completion of the run
the data should be transfer to another media (through the net or onto CD
or Stick) and checked before deletion from the hard drive (Data will be
removed after 3Months).
Shutdown
Procedure.
- After completion of your
samples place a fresh tube filled with 3 ml of FACS Clean (or 10% Sodium
Hypochlorite) onto the SIP.
- With the arm to one side
allow approx. 1 ml to be aspirated, the centre the arm and leave running
on high for 5 mins.
- Repeat this with a fresh
tube of Dist. H2O, then depressurise with some water still in the tube.
- Fill in the Work Sheet.
- Check the Diary for other
users and switch off
ALL parts when there
is a significant period before the next user or after 5pm.
- Any problems with the
instrument should be reported by email to nigel.rust@path.ox.ac.uk and a
note left with the instrument to inform the next user.
