Introduction

Keith Gull's group is part of the Molecular Microbiology theme at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology. The lab works on several aspects of microbiology from both an evolutionary and health perspective, but the main focus of the work involves the protozoan parasites Trypanosoma brucei and Leishmania spp. - the causative agents of human sleeping sickness and Leishmaniasis. Among the current research interests of the lab are: the trypanosome cytoskeleton, flagellum and cell morphogenesis, nuclear architecture, cell division and cytokinesis, proteins and pathogenicity features of trypanosomes.
