Atherosclerosis and Thrombosis Index is an excellent module of the University of Utah's WebPath resource. This page has 40 images of atherosclerotic lesions with complications of atheroma formation and a section devoted to thrombosis and its clinical sequelae.

University of Alberta Pathology This overview from David Rayner MD of the University of Alberta discusses diseases of the heart and systemic circulation. The section on arteriosclerosis contains some good images of human atherosclerotic lesions.

Management of Common Lipid Disorders a clinical study module from Stephen Fortmann of Stanford University Division of General Internal Medicine. Discusses the advantages and disadvantages of screening for hypercholesterolemia and uses sample patient cases to illustrate principles of managing dyslipidaemias.

The American Heart Association website contains many useful sections including the AHA journals, Circulation, Circulation Research and ATVB. Also lots of useful articles for clinicians, researchers and patients.

The British Heart Foundation is a UK charity supporting research into all aspects of cardiovascular disease. Their website contains many useful articles for patients and carers.
